Magic Notes
Write as naturally as in Notes, while keeping private content on your Mac.
MAGIC · MACAPP
A native, local-first writing and notes app. Regular content stays local, while private notes use AES-256-GCM encryption.
Write first, publish only when you mean to
Magic Notes uses a native three-column library for notes, article drafts, and Spark. It supports folders, search, rich text, checklists, tables, attachments, printing, and several export formats. Local saving, private storage, and public publishing remain separate actions.
- Private notes are encrypted by default, with the device key stored in macOS Keychain.
- Individual notes can be locked and reopened with Touch ID or the system login password.
- Convertible Apple Notes content can be migrated through Magic Bridge.
- Implemented and planned capabilities are documented separately instead of presenting a roadmap as finished work.
